The Darkling Brain Hardcover – January 10, 2026

An anthology comprised of submissions from the mentally impaired residents of the Scientonomy Residential Center for the Aged in Candor-on-Asperger, Florida, over the course of several winter holiday seasons. This volume--the final installment in the Whisanant Mythos--was the result of an ill-considered campaign by then--Creative Coordinator Doyce Whisanant to draft otherwise bored residents and their families (and facility staff) into one of several activities intended to encourage mental stimulation and collaboration to offset seasonal affective disorder. What resulted is a unique record of fantastic interactions with cryptoterrestrial neighbors, cult bureaucrats, and a few historic firsts, in this landmark entry of geriatric weird fiction. Read more
